I have a busy endocrinology practice in Calgary, with a special interest in the management of obesity and T2DM.  I spent the year of 2009 on a research sabattical in the Department of Human Nutrition at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, where I had the honor of working with Professor Arne Astrup on a wide range of research studies, including the areas of gastric bypass surgery, medical therapy for weight loss, as well as dietary intervention studies.  I returned to Calgary in January 2010 with an intensified passion for the management of obesity, and a dedication towards advocacy for increasing accessibility to bariatric surgery in Canada.  I am interested in the entire spectrum of obesity management, from lifestyle management to medical therapy to surgical intervention.  I maintain a public information website dedicated towards helping patients with obesity and/or T2DM: www.drsue.ca.
