Dr. Chapelsky has a B.Sc. (Physiology with Honours) from the University of Alberta and a M.Sc. (Physiology) from Queen’s University. She completed medical school and core internal medicine training at the University of Calgary. She developed a special interest in obesity medicine during her general internal medicine training at the University of British Columbia. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta.

Based in Edmonton, she practices obesity medicine full-time. She has a community-based practice at C-endo, and she is the Director of the Women’s Preoperative Weight Loss Clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, which serves patients with obesity and gynecologic cancers. She previously practiced at the Edmonton Adult Bariatric Surgery Clinic. She has a special interest in the management of patients with very high BMI and perioperative weight management for non-bariatric procedures.
