Presentation Overview:

Although there are several randomized controlled trials demonstrating the benefits of metabolic surgery none of them exceed five years of follow up. For this presentation, we will review the randomized controlled trial conducted by Dr. Mingrone and al., retracing the results of the ten years follow up comparing metabolic surgery versus medical therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes and assessing the durability of diabetes remission over a period of ten years.
