Dr. Harris is an Endocrinologist and Obesity specialist from the LEAF Weight Management Clinic, Ottawa East, Ontario, and a medical director of the Richmond Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Program for British Columbia.
 
He is originally born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, and completed all clinical training at UBC. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He is an instructor with the Obesity training fellowship program at the University of Ottawa, and clinical research instructor at the University of British Columbia.  
 
In a world of COVID-19, Dr. Harris has been practicing virtual medicine in four provinces in Canada:  British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. As he holds medical licenses in both British  Columbia and Ontario, the pandemic provided a rare opportunity for a medical specialist to observe how people were doing with weight management across the country of Canada.  He is honoured to be asked by the CABPS committee to moderate this session focused on COVID-19 today.
