Presentation Overview:

The video Surgical Management of Gastric Stenosis Post Sleeve – Pitfalls of an Unusual Case presents the conversion of an improperly conceived sleeve gastrectomy to a laparoscopic gastric Roux-en-Y gastric bypass with hiatal hernia repair and fundectomy. The patient with a previous history of open splenectomy for lymphoma presented after her sleeve with recurrent vomiting and GERD symptoms from a classic incisura stenosis associated with a retained fundus and a non-recognized hiatal hernia. The conversion was complicated by the modified anatomy post-splenectomy and lead to an ischemic injury to the mesentery of the transverse colon that was adherent to the sleeve stapled line.
