Dr. Nooshin Alizadeh-Pasdar, PhD, RD graduated from University of British Columbia (UBC) where she did her PhD and postdoctoral studies and McGill University where she did her Maters degree. She is a Registered Clinical Dietitian and founder of Bariatric Nutrition at Richmond Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery clinic of Vancouver Coastal Health in Richmond, BC, Canada. She has held various positions (since 1996) at UBC including as sessional lecturer and clinical instructor. She is the main author of the Bariatric Surgery Lifestyle Manual for the Bariatric patients. She is a researcher, reviewer of nutrition textbooks, journal articles, and diet analysis softwares and has many publications. 

Dr. Alizadeh-Pasdar has presented in many conferences locally, nationally, and internationally including Dietetics in Action, National Obesity Summits, BC Obesity Network Summits, Global Summit on Obesity and Diet Management, and CABPS where she presented in Niagara Falls on Reactive Hypoglycemia post gastric sleeve in 2017 and on her research on her scientifically designed pre-operative diet for bariatric surgery patients in 2019 in Toronto, and on Fasting after bariatric surgery in 2020. She is passionate about the work she does and enjoys everyday interactions with patients and colleagues.

Presentation Overview:

In patients with obesity, micronutrient deficiencies have been reported both before and after bariatric surgery. This workshop will provide tools/resources for clinicians to be able to identify micronutrient deficiencies before and after bariatric surgery.
