Plenary Session - TOPICAL ISSUES AND NEW TREATMENTS

Co-Chairs: Drs. Daniel Birch, Michel Gagner

Single Incision Bariatric Surgery: Is it worth it?

Although SILS has captured the attention of general surgeons around the world, and with an explosion of publication over the past 3 years, there are very few data available from which to make an evidence-based determination as to the real benefits of this technique. The are ample feasibility data published. We now await for well-designed comparative studies to validate the clinical benefits and ensure there are no new complications or added costs associated with this technique.
