Dr. James Ellsmere is an Assistant Professor of SUrgery at Dalhousie University and the Surgical Director of the Weight Loss Program at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax NS. He attended Dalhousie University for medical school and his general surgery residency before completing fellowship training in 2007 in advanced laparoscopy and therapeutic endoscopy at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ellsmere also has a masterís degree in medical informatics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research interests include clinical outcomes of bariatric surgery and medical device development.
