Registered Nurse, Certified Diabetes Educator

Tammy Eborall graduated from Brock University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then completed her diploma of Nursing from Mohawk College in 1989. Tammy worked as a surgical nurse on a general surgery unit for 16 years.  She then completed her certification as a diabetes educator in 2006.

Tammy presently works at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.   She is involved with diabetes management and education in the internal medicine in-patient population and the bariatric clinic, where she has been a team member since it first began as a pilot study in 2007.


Sue Ekserci, BASC, RD

Sue Ekserci, is a registered dietitian from Humber River Regional Hospital. She worked in the Bariatric Program and recently moved to the Women’s and Children’s Health program. During her time in the bariatric program she was involved with developing recommendations for the standardization of micronutrient supplementation, developed educational resources, and wrote a book “The Complete Weight-Loss Surgery Guide and Diet Program” which is being sold in North America, the UK and Australia. It has recently been nominated for an award by Taste Canada and receives much positive praise amongst bariatric patients and professional community.

Currently, she runs a paediatric nutrition clinic where she is devoted to providing nutritional care and teaching to children and teenagers living with obesity. She is committed to empower patients’ and their families to effectively incorporate healthy and mindful eating into their lifestyles.
