Dr. John Hagen, MD, FRCSC

Dr. John Hagen graduated from the University of Alberta in 1979. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. He is presently at Humber River Regional Hospital and is the Surgical Director of Bariatrics.

Dr. Simon Marceau, MD, FRCSC

Dr. Marceau graduated from Laval University in medicine in 1991 and general surgery in 1996. He received a scholarship from the McLaughlin Foundation and continued his education with a fellowship in bariatric surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard University Boston. He started his practice in 1998 at Laval Hospital in Quebec city where he joined a surgical team where is father , doctor Picard Marceau had been practicing surgery for 35 years. The latter with Dr. Simon Biron has pioneered the development of surgery for the treatment of severe obesity in Quebec and Canada and their work has had an impact internationally recognized.

Dr Simon Marceau has been in practice now for over 12 years in general surgery and bariatric surgery. He has contributed more than fifty scientific papers, scientific articles, abstracts or book chapters. Being a Clinical Assistant Professor at Laval University, his contribution includes teaching and supervising students and residents in surgery.
